Y1 – Harvesting – Forest School
At Forest School today, Year 1 children harvested their potatoes which they planted in April whilst in Reception. Wearing gloves and using trowels, children carefully removed the soil from the tyre towers which had been left undisturbed for the last five months and were amazed to find lots of potatoes hidden within. After carefully removing them from the soil, children gave them a clean before putting them into storage for UKS2 to use in their food technology lessons next week. Finally, pupils took the soil no longer needed for the potatoes over to the vegetable beds where they grew onions this year and topped up the bed before its winter rest. Year 1 – what a great job you have done!
