UKS2 – English

Yesterday in English, the children engaged in ’hot seat’ roleplay. Their challenge, to interview a survivor from the 2011 Japanese tsunami. Initially, children watched a video of the aftermath, discussing the carnage and what they could see. They were then asked to explore the emotional impact this would have on the citizens of the affected regions. After that, the children came up with a series of interview questions they would ask a survivor. Finally, the children used the information from the session to role play an interview. They will use this to inform their viewpoint narrative about the 2011 Japanese tsunami.
