Den Building – KS1 – Forest School

Due to the exciting developments in our Forest School area which are being kept secret from the children for now, Ks1’s Forest School sessions started in their classroom before heading out onto the playground and the grassy areas which surround it! Building on their knowledge of shelters and dens from last time, children recapped the features and names of the three different shelters they had made last time (A-Frame, Lean-To and Tepee). Tasked with creating a mini version for a toy animal to live in, groups set to work using their knowledge of these dens to create structured shelters. Once complete, groups decorated their shelters with beds, baths, food, tables and even a gym! Great creativity KS1!
