EYFS – Newsletter – 6/12/19
What a busy week in Reception! We have spent a lot a time practising for our Christmas play and were very excited to have our first rehearsal on the stage!
In Phonics this week, we have been looking at the sounds ff, l and ll. For each sound we have practised our letter formation using lots of different resources such as string, tracing paper, masking tape and whiteboards and then practised applying this when writing cvc words. We have also spent time talking about how we know when to use the grapheme and when to use the digraph. Our sounds next week will be the digraph ss and j.
In Maths, we have been recapping different strategies we can use to count carefully as well as learning how to find one more than a number.
It has been great to hear about the books children are reading at home. We are looking forward to finding out who can move their rocket on Monday for reading 3 times a week!
