Creativity and mindfulness in the Beehive bubble!

Happy Monday from the children and staff in Beehive! We have had a lovely morning focusing on creativity and mindfulness.

First, we watched a video from Literacy Shed. The short film was about a robot who lived in the woods, and travelled to a factory to find out where he came from. The video explored issues of belonging and loneliness, and the children came up with some very insightful questions and ideas about the robot’s journey. We used these ideas as a starting point for our own creations; drawings, paintings, and a role play complete with props!

After enjoying our creative time, we learned about mindfulness. We talked about the importance of looking after our minds, and ways to help us feel calm. We did several exercises, including closing our eyes and listening for one minute, then listing everything we could hear. This was a great way of focussing our minds!
