LKS2 – Class 7 – Forest Schools & Mental Health

As this week is mental health week, class 7 took part in various activities. We began our afternoon by getting into groups and familiarizing ourselves with a plane crash scenario and the 14 items we were left with to survive. In our groups, we had to then pick 10 items that would be the most useful for survival and then list them from most important to least important. After we discussed this as a class and why we placed each item, we went outside to make our own shelters in our groups using items such as tarpaulin, rope and logs. To finish our afternoon, we played a game called ‘The Human Knot’ where we got into circles, held hands with other children in our circles and then tried to ‘untie’ ourselves whilst still keeping our hands together.
