UKS2 – Class 8 – Science

On Wednesday, Class 8 were exploring the composition of blood. After learning about the 4 key components, the children were challenged to create their own ‘blood bottles’ to display their understanding. Using a range of kitchen ingredients, they were asked to explain the features and functions of each component part before adding it to their concoctions. Yellow food colouring and water was used to represent the blood plasma. Mini marshmallows represented white blood cells. Bran flakes represented the platelets and cheerios and red food colouring represented red blood cells. Well done everyone!
