LKS2 Newsletter 23/9/22
Happy Friday! We have had a busy and fun week in LKS2 this week and we’re enjoying the sunny autumn days.
In English we used all our knowledge of Skara Brae’s history, what it is like now and all our persuasive language to plan, draft and write a persuasive leaflet.
Mrs Greaves’ maths group have worked extremely hard on their place value knowledge of 2 and 3 digit numbers and have been busy finding 1,10 and 100 more and less.
In Miss Evans’ maths group, the children have been comparing and ordering numbers to 10,000. They had to label the halfway point of a number line, then used digit cards to generate lots of different 4 digit numbers. They wrote these numbers on post it notes and ordered them on the number line, thinking carefully about the most accurate place to put them.
In history we have been busy visiting the Stone Age! We looked at primary and secondary sources of information and were lucky enough to have some stone age artefacts to support our learning. After this we used ‘now press play’ to fully immerse ourselves into the stone age!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
