Nurture Group – Forest School
To celebrate Shrove Tuesday pupils in our Nurture Group made pancakes with a variety of toppings at the fire pit as part of their Forest School session today. It all began in the classroom where pupils followed a recipe to make the pancake batter using milk, eggs and flour. After learning some of the key vocabulary involved, pupils headed up to the Forest School area to help Mr Gamble make a fire and get it hot enough. Then, children took it in turns to cook their own pancake before adding a topping of their choice from cream, blueberries, chocolate spread, sugar and lemon juice. Children also enjoyed visiting the rabbits, playing on the slackline and tree house and creating their own mud pancakes in the mud kitchen.
