Wellbeing Wednesday – Forest School
This morning, we really did have all the seasons in one! Driving rain, followed by warm sunshine, cold winds and rainbows! Nevertheless, it didn’t stop the two Wellbeing Wednesday groups from having a terrific morning. The younger pupils participated in two very different activities – feeding and stroking the animals and then playing on the tree house and slackline. Afterwards, we compared the two tasks and realised that both calm, slow-paced and relaxing activities (such as seeing the animals) and energetic, fast-paced, physical activities (such as playing on the equipment) can have the same positive effect on our wellbeing. The older group continued their projects of preparing the kitchen garden and new composting areas, aimed at the positive benefits that physical exercise, working as a team and job satisfaction has on wellbeing.
