EYFS – World Book Day
What a fab day we have had in reception celebrating World Book Day!
Our class book today was ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle.
During the day we showed what the caterpillar had eaten by printing using fruit and carved potatoes, and coloured in caterpillar pictures using repeating patterns. We also learnt about the lifecycle of a caterpillar and ordered pictures to show the different steps to becoming a butterfly!
In the afternoon we learnt how to use a knife safely to chop fruit and used this skill to make (and then eat) our own fruit kebabs!
After finishing our kebabs, we went down to the hall to browse the different books available and chose a special new book to take home. When we came back upstairs we had our final surprise of the day, a mystery reader! The children loved hearing a story from someone new so thank you very much to our special guest.
We hope you find a super new book to buy with your voucher. Remember these vouchers can be spent at our book fair which is arriving soon!
