Reception have had a brilliant time this week enjoying the sunshine!
In preparation for Thursday’s trip to the farm, our writing focus had been based on what we predicted we might see when we went on our visit. The children did a super job forming and writing sentences to explain what they thought might be living at the farm.
On Wednesday we had another reading buddy session, this time with the Year 6’s. The children had a lovely time sharing books outside in the playground.
In maths we have continued working on doubling and everyone particularly enjoyed playing a board game where they had to solve double problems on their own.
The highlight of our week was Thursday when we went to visit None-Go-Bye farm. Everybody was so well behaved and safely followed instructions to take care around the animals. Each child had a bag of animal feed and took time walking around the farm to feed the alpacas, goats, sheep and pigs (amongst others).
Back at school we went up to the garden to visit the chicks and see how much they had grown and also spent some time playing in the garden. In the classroom, we read and matched sentences about animals at the farm, cut out 2D shapes to make farm animals and played a barrier game where we had to explain to our partner where to place things on a farm picture.
We hope you all have a lovely half term!
