Y4 – Knot Challenge – Forest School
What a self-fulling afternoon we’ve had in Year 4’s Forest School session. Using their knowledge of Prusick and Bowline knots, pupils were set five challenges involving both knots which included tying a Prusick knot onto a rope and creating a Bowline knot on a piece of rope, then attach it to another rope, then onto a stick and then onto two sticks. Despite how fiddly, tricky and technical Bowlines can be to make, all the children persevered and there were some amazing successes which demonstrated the foundations of Forest School; child-led learning, challenge and outcomes!
