Y4 Folk Music Workshop
Year 4 were treated to a wonderful folk music workshop this morning. We heard a range of songs and pieces played on different instruments: clarinet, bass clarinet, accordion, cello and a nyckelharpa! A nyckelharpa is a bowed instrument ( a bit like a violin) but it has keys to change the pitch of the notes. As well as joining in with lots of singing, a few lucky children also tried out morris dancing. Here’s what the children said:
“It was great! I really liked the way they taught us about different types of dancing”
“It was amazing! It was really good to hear a type of music that I’ve not really heard before.”
Thank you to David Pipe and his fantastic musicians and also to Artforms and LMEP for funding the workshop.
