UKS2 – Trip – Eden Camp
To support our current topic of World War II, we are delighted to announce that next half term, on Thursday 6th June, UKS2 have the exciting opportunity to go to Eden Camp on a school trip.
Eden Camp Modern History Museum is a valuable educational resource for KS2 school groups, bringing history to life, whilst meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum in all subjects.
Their immersive displays bring history to life, allowing pupils and adults alike to experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on the Home Front and the Front Line, which encompasses a whole host of subjects and themes, from art, religious education and citizenship, to geography, design and science.
The cost of the trip is £13.00 (£6.50 for pupil premium), which will cover admission to the museum and transport to and from Eden Camp. This is available on Parent Pay now, alongside a permission slip for you to sign.
Children will be departing school at 9:15am and will return at 2:45pm for usual end of the day procedures. The children will need a packed lunch, unless they are eligible for free school meals, in which case lunch will be provided. Please check with the office if you are unsure whether this applies to your child.
The children will need to wear school uniform, but trainers are acceptable footwear for the day, to account for the camp environment. Children will need to bring a waterproof coat, sun cream and sunhats, to account for all weather possibilities.
If your child suffers with travel sickness, tablets should be administered at home before coming to school. If your child needs an additional sickness tablet for the return journey, you must complete a medical form, which are available from the school office, and submit it to school no later than Wednesday 5th June. No medicine will be able to be administered without the completion of this form.
There is an opportunity to visit the gift shop at Eden Camp. The children are allowed to bring (no more than) £5.00 to spend in the shop. This must be in a sealed, named envelope/wallet/purse, and it is your child’s responsibility during the day.
We look forward to enjoying this exciting and educational visit with your children.
