LKS2 – Class 4 and Class 6 – Maths

Today in Miss Nodding’s maths group, we were introduced to our Measurement unit. We began by building upon our existing knowledge from Year  2, where we used either metres or centimetres to measure the length of objects. We revised these skills, initially using a ruler to measure objects in centimetres. We then combined both units of measurement, such as 1m and 20 cm. We did this by exploring the classroom and investigating which objected were less than 10cm, which were between 10cm and 1m and which were larger than a metre. We then recorded these in a table and then combined both metres and centimetres to measure the height of each other and larger objects within our classroom.
