Afghan Refugee Gift Collection
This year the parents and carers of children in Year 2 organised an impromptu collection for the newly arrived Afghan Refugees children spending their first Christmas in Leeds Hotels.
This collection was done in conjunction with Streetwise charity based in Kirkstall as part of their Christmas Shoebox appeal for the vulnerably housed.
47 children’s presents were requested, within 72 hours over 300 gifts has been donated. This was due to the generosity and love of our community, with support from the wider Leeds community.
Thank you Cookridge Primary School Year 2 parents for your prompt call to rescue for the most vulnerable and insecure and to show refugees that you are welcome amongst us.
