Covid Cases in School
Dear parent / carer
Since 19th July, schools are no longer responsible for identifying close contacts of pupils who test positive for COVID-19. Instead, close contacts will be notified by NHS Test and Trace and given advice and instruction about isolating.
As schools often become aware of cases sooner than NHS Test and Trace, we are writing to inform you that there have been 1 pupil in Reception, 2 pupils in Year 2, 4 pupils in year 3, 3 pupils in Year 4, 6 pupils in Year 5 and 2 pupils in Year 6 who have tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
Close contacts will be informed by NHS Test and Trace, but in the meantime, please be alert to the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 infection:
- A high temperature
- A new continuous cough
- A loss of change to your sense of taste or smell
If your child develops one of these symptoms, please keep them at home and test using a Lateral Flow Test or book a PCR test (online at: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or by phoning 119 between 7am and 11pm) and stay at home until you receive a result.
Kind regards
Mrs Hunter
