Earth Day – KS1 – Forest School

Tuesday 22 April 2025 marks the 55th Earth Day, a day to highlight the importance of our planet and the conservation of its ecosystems on all continents and oceans. So to celebrate, pupils in KS1 enjoyed celebrating Earth Day in their Forest School sessions today by throwing a party! We discussed lots of themes including the age of the planet, how long humans (in their current form) had been on Earth and how we can look after it. Children were set the task of creating a birthday cake and presents for the Earth using natural materials and loose parts which they found around the school grounds. In the mud kitchen, and after creating their mud, there were some great designs and ingrediants used for the cake whilst the imaginative presents ranged from fidget toys to flower bouquets. Well done KS1!
