Sunshine to snow and dragons to Easter eggs, there certainly has been a lot of excitement this week to end the half term! To finish our topic on animals we looked at fairy-tale animals and creatures this week, with the favourites being unicorns, mermaids and dragons!
In Phonics we have been revisiting some of the different Phase 3 graphemes we have learnt this half term and worked on our confidence reading and writing words using them. The children particularly enjoyed reading the clues on our Easter egg hunt around the school.
In Maths we have been consolidating our learning of number and counting by finding one more and one less. We counted fairy-tale creatures and then wrote numerals to show one more and one less, played games involving rolling dice and covering one more or one less than the dice roll and practised keeping score when we gained or lost points during a beanbag throwing game.
On Thursday we had forest school in the snow! The children had a great time searching for Easter eggs, using the fire to melt chocolate for Easter nests cakes and sledging on the field!
We hope you have a relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing you all again in on Wednesday 20th April!
