It’s been a shorter week for Reception but still full of activity!
All the children in Reception continue to wow us with how much they have learned and how fantastic they are at putting their skills to use in all their work. In Phonics, everyone has been so impressed by the brilliant writing produced by the children and we’ve been adding writing to a new folder that will showcase the children’s writing as they progress through school. Maths work has seen us revisiting the concepts of more and less again, with children exploring this in fun ways.
Tuesday saw the children enjoying a summer themed music session with Mrs Durrant, with which the children joined in with much enthusiasm dancing, singing and playing along with the instruments. In Art the children explored patterns in the animal kingdom with Mrs Ledda. In DT, Mr Joy had the children work together to build a large dinosaur portrait from sticks and branches.
The children also loved getting together to try another draw-along video, with some fantastic volcano pictures drawn as a result. As we reach the end of the school year, it has been a delight to see the children engaging in activities so well, and interacting so maturely. They have all grown so much and are certainly ready for their transition up to Year 1 in the coming weeks.
Have a great weekend!
