What a fantastic first week at school! Reception class have settled in brilliantly and are having lots of fun exploring our indoor and outdoor areas.
We have concentrated on getting to know one another and learning the classroom routines. The children have bowled us over with their manners and listening skills already and are becoming so confident in Reception already.
Tortellini the class tortoise has been very popular this week, with children keen to help feed him and watch him get some exercise on the carpet.
All areas of the classroom have been well used, with children having a go at making their own faces from a selection of features; drawing the people and pets that live in their home and singing their favourite songs on the stage! Our D.T. construction area has been particularly popular with many children choosing to learn safe techniques to cut and join wood to make models of their own.
On Thursday and Friday, the children began staying for lunch and were wonderful at serving each other their food and clearing the tables afterward. Well done everyone!
