EYFS Newsletter – 10/12/2021

Christmas is definitely underway in Reception!

This week we have continued rehearsing for our upcoming Christmas play and had a lot of fun in the process. We have had our first few rehearsals in the hall and the children have loved the chance to get up and act on the stage.

In Phonics we have continued reviewing all of the phase 2 phonemes and graphemes and practised using these to read and write CVC words. Some children have even challenged themselves to write a sentence and blown Mrs Hunters socks off!

In Maths we have focused on our counting skills. We have read numerals to help decorate Christmas trees, counted dots on carrots to work out which reindeer they are for and helped Santa count how many presents are in each of his sacks.

Next week we have our Christmas performance on Wednesday and then it will be forest schools on Thursday.
