EYFS – Newsletter – 25/06/2021

Reception have had another great week this week!

In phonics we have be looking at the diagraphs ‘ar’ and ‘or’. We read sentences using these words and drew pictures to show what they said. Later in the week we used these sounds when creating our own sentences. In maths we have been looking at shapes. We recapped the names of different flat shapes and then investigated how to use triangles and squares to make a variety of different shapes.

On Wednesday we had forest schools. In the morning we went up to the field to cloud gaze before writing a sentence about what we saw. We were then challenged to make the shapes we have been talking about without using our pens and pencils! In the afternoon we took part in the school catapult competition. Everyone made and tested their own catapults and the had the chance to fire them outside for points.

Next week it is PE on Tuesday.
