Forest School – Resilience Group
The Forest School resilience group have loved their first two sessions as they got to grips with hand drills, seceteurs and loppers. They used conkers, string and sticks (for dowling) to create conker sculptures. We wrote our ideas of what resilience is and what it looks like in practice on leaves for our resilience display then discussed them in turn, adding more ideas as we thought of them. In the next session, we returned to fire lays. Pupils had to build a fire lay, light it and keep it alive. Unfortunately, this week resulted in no roasted marshmallows or cups of hot chocolate. However, pupils showed great levels of determination, problem solving and teamwork whilst never giving up. As we reviewed and reflected, pupils were able to identify what had worked well and what the next steps will be next week when we have another go.
