Great Yorkshire Show – Group Two
We have enjoyed a second day at the Great Yorkshire Show with another group of Year 6 pupils. Despite the cold and dull weather conditions, the children got stuck into a lot of activities including learning about bee hives and how the colony work together to provide honey for every bee, meeting three alpacas, learning about birds of prey and visiting a number of stalls and tents in the discovery zone. Children also had the opportunity to make their own wands in a free workshop or have a go at making sausages to take home! After that, children had lunch watching a heavy horse competition in the main showground ring before visiting the animal pens to see cows, pigs, goats and sheep. Finally, we visited the food hall to sample some cheese, meat, sauces and relishes! A tasty way to end the day!
