Help at Home
Feedback from parents/carers suggests that a small proportion of people are unsure of what the expectations of children are for each year group in each subject and how they can support this at home. In an effort to strengthen School/Parent/Carer partnerships, we have created a subject guidance page on the website which shares expectations and resources that we use within school. Supporting your children with these at home will further support and reinforce skills and knowledge from the curriculum. This initiative is still in its infancy and the resources and information will be populated over the next year and a half, so please bare with us. We have been working on History in recent weeks so that might be a good starting point. Please follow the link below to further investigate the webpage:

In addition to this webpage, there is another online resource that we have started to use with the children called ‘Kahoot’. This resource uses a quiz like structure to recap on knowledge from different areas of the curriculum. If you follow – https://www.cookridgeprimary.co.uk/children/subject-guidance/history/year-2-history/kahoot-across-the-curriculum/ the webpage will tell you how to download the App and start using the fluency quizzes we use in school. A lot of the children are very excited to play these quizzes and it is a good way to help support home learning. Choose the appropriate quizzes for your children e.g. Children in classes 1, 2, 3, 4 choose – ‘Cookridge KS1’ quizzes, Children in classes 5, 6, 7 choose – ‘Cookridge LKS2’ quizzes, Children in classes 8, 9, 10 choose – ‘Cookridge UKS2’ quizzes.
