KS1 – Animal Tracking – Forest School
Key Stage One pupils took advantage of the icy and snowy conditions to go on a winter walk around the school grounds. They quickly discovered lots of animal footprints so instantly turned into detectives! We found and tracked footprints, counting their toes, movement patterns and described the features of the feet. The children could identify when an animal had jumped, or where a bird had landed and had taken off again as well as spotting animal entry and exit points around the school field. We worked out we had foxes, rats and squirrels as well as a host of birds. Well done KS1!
