KS1 – Forest School
We have had a great time in our Forest School sessions today with lots of skill, determination and creativity on show by all the pupils! Children led their own learning and had a range of tasks, challenges and areas to use. There was the slackline, tree house and mud kitchen for children to manage their own risk and play whilst in the sandpit children created a wonderful sand town including a train station, school and McDonalds! Pupils could also practice their whittling skills using our potato peelers, kneeling pads and safety gloves to sharpen sticks. The final activity involved managing risk around an open fire. Children used flint and steel to create sparks before helping to keep a fire alive by finding the right fuel at the right time. Once hot enough, children roasted marshmallows and enjoyed a tasty snack after all the hard work they’d put into the session! Well done KS1!
