KS1 – Loose Parts – Forest School
Pupils in KS1 ended their work on loose parts by linking their knowledge and skills to creative play. After listening to and discussing the book ‘Stickman’ by Julia Donaldson, pupils were challenged to create their own stick person using loose parts and string. After being shown ‘frapping’ – a technique of attaching sticks together with string without the use of knots, children created arms, hands, hair and shoes for their new characters. Once complete, pupils headed to the field to act out their own stick adventures just like in the book!
