KS1 Newsletter 5.2.21 and STORY
Happy Friday everyone!
We had another snow day this week and had some great photos to show us the fun you had:
The snow inspired Mrs Harrisson to find a story to read to you, so click on the link below to hear all about ‘Elmer in the snow’.

Yet again, you have been amazing continuing with your home learning. We have loved hearing the year 2’s speak enthusiastically in our Zoom check-ins about their English work this week. ‘Cloudy with a chance of meatballs’ has really captured their imaginations and they have produced some fabulous work as a result. We had some amazing weather forecasts sent in from year 1 – there’s some budding reporters out there! It’s also great to hear children talking about pushing themselves trying out the frog challenges in Maths and teaching the grown ups how to use some of the methods we teach in school.
We had some outstanding birdfeeder entries for our competition, so thank you to all those who entered. Big congratulations to Michael who was our Key Stage 1 winner! Our next competition is all about pancakes. Shrove Tuesday will be during half term this year, have a look at the post about designing and making your pancake for a chance to win £10 Amazon voucher.
Next Thursday, 11th February as part of children’s mental health week, we will be having a ‘dress to express’ Zoom. When your child logs on to the check in zoom in the afternoon we would love them to be wearing something that helps them to express themselves or makes them feel good. It could be the colours they are wearing, smart clothes, dressing up clothes, whatever makes them feel happy. We look forward to seeing what you’ll be wearing!
Please remember that all the packs containing work for the two weeks after half term will be in the office to collect from next week: Thursday 11th and Friday 12th. If you come between 9am -11:45am a member of staff will be available for you to return reading books and collect some new ones. Please note, Monday 22nd February is a training day. Work will be set for the children but no staff will be available to answer e mails or to do Zoom check-ins or interventions.
We really value the support that parents and carers have given to the children during these difficult times. We know that you are trying your best and remember that we are here to support you in anyway we can.
