KS1 – World Mental Health Day – Forest School

On Thursday, it is World Mental Health Day 2024. To celebrate this, Key Stage One pupils have enjoyed a day of Forest School activities based on promoting the importance of mental health and wellbeing and how being outdoors in nature can help. We used loose parts to create colour kebabs using skewers and to make an Autumn Colour Hunt card to complete. We also put up the hammocks in the trees to focus on how important it is to stop, relax and listen at times and take time out of our busy schedules. Children also had the opportunity to do some ‘sit spotting,’ ‘earthing’ and playing amongst the trees, focusing on the positive impact nature can have on our feelings.
