KS2 – Classes 5,6,7,8,9 & 10 – Reading Competition

Leeds has declared the 2019-2020 academic year as a ‘Year of Reading’ across the city. This morning, we launched a competition for Key Stage 2 pupils which is our first event to engage young people in reading and increase reading participation across school.

Based on the popular Football Heroes book, the competition encourages children to think about who they look up to – they can be male, female and from any background at all. Some children might be into a particular player from their favourite football team while others will have heroes from elsewhere in the world of sport, or in fashion and entertainment. They might choose an individual from their own families and local communities. All are welcome!

Profiles should include fun facts, general knowledge and reasons why they their chosen person is a hero to them.

Winners will receive the opportunity for eight people to attend a top football match in a VIP box at Wembley Stadium during the 2019/20 season! Good luck everyone!
