LKS2 – 2/12/19- Newsletter

This week has been a busy one for LKS2 with autumn assessments and Christmas play rehearsals. On Monday, we had our Christmas Fair which allowed the kids to be able to show off their handmade Christmas creations. On Monday morning, we had time to finish these off!

In maths across the phase, we have been consolidating everything we have learnt so far ready for our arithmetic and reasoning assessment.

In English this week, we have been continuing with Animals of Farthing Wood and are nearing the end of the book. We have been practicing our paired reading skills and meaning breakdown strategies to help us understand the text and specific words.

Yesterday, the whole of LKS2 had a forest school morning. We continued to use our mapping skills but this time we looked at a wider snippet of the local area. Each group of 10 had their own map and tarpaulin sheet to work with. They collected natural resources to act as each human and physical feature on their maps.

All of LKS2 have worked super hard during assessment week and have stayed very resilient day after day!
