LKS2 – Class 4, 5 & 7 – English

This Monday, we used our text and debated the question:

Are the roman tax collectors fair?

To do this, we worked in groups to retrieve all the information and evidence from the text that could support both sides of our argument. We had to think about the role of a roman tax collector and it’s relevance to the story. We used sentence stems to help us formulate sentences with evidence to explain this. Then, we sat opposite each other and debated. We had to think carefully about how to counteract the previous persons argument, so that our responses formed a conversation. All of our arguments will help us with our upcoming letter of complaint.
