LKS2 – Class 4, 6 & 7 – Jorvik Viking Trip

On Friday, we had a fantastic trip to York to visit the Jorvik Viking museum. Whilst there, children participated in two workshops. The first was called ‘Dig.’ It was an exciting attraction which enabled learners to engage with archaeology in a hands-on way. Pupils tried their hand at becoming archaeologists and also learned how we use our discoveries to learn more about life in the past. The second workshop was called ‘Battle tactics.’ This workshop immersed pupils in Viking battle tactics and how this impacted their struggle to invade and maintain rule in Britain. We also visited the Jorvik museum where we had a tour around a viking village on a cart.
