LKS2 – Class 7 – Science

Yesterday in science, we furthered our learning on shadows. We had craft filled lesson where we had to create our own shadow puppets using card, black paper and lollypop sticks. Then, we turned all of the lights off and in groups, acted out our own scene using our shadow puppets, a torch and a white card background. We were flooded with relevant language such as light source, opaque, transparent and translucent and discussed in detail how the shadow puppets are making the shadow onto the card background. We also explored how the distance from the light source (torch) can affect the size and sharpness of the shadow.
