LKS2 – Classes 5,6 & 7 – Forest School

Today, pupils in Years 3 and 4 learnt how to safely use a range of tools including flint and steel, whittling knives and bow saws. Children were then free to choose an activity using any of the tools. Some of them created bows and arrows, natural art sculptures, spears and stick people using the whittling knives and bow saws. Others chose to use flint and steel to make fires in the fire pit, including the use of Kelly kettles. Groups worked together to build fire lays, light their fire and then keep it alive. Afterwards, we all enjoyed a drink of hot chocolate and freshly cooked popcorn.
