LKS2 – Newsletter – 07/06/19
Another amazing week in LKS2!
After a well deserved half term break for the children, we hit the ground running reading further along in our book. We delved into Chapter 2, 3 and 4 this week and used this information to predict what is going to happen next. The children have then planned their own next chapter and will be writing it up next week.
In maths, all of LKS2 have been learning about time. Reading a digital clock, converting analogue time to digital time and solving different contextual problems have been our objectives this week.
The most exciting events however took place on Thursday. Y3 were lucky enough to visit Breary Marsh for a day of Forest Schools and science. The children used the woods to think all about mindfulness and then used the stunning grounds of Golden Acre to learn even more about plants. Y4 children looked at the impact that the Romans have had on our modern day life. Children explored what the Romans invented and then had a go at building their own aqueducts!
Things to remember…
11.6.19 – Y4 visit to Breary Marsh. Please come dressed for Forest Schools.
13.6.19 – LKS2 trip to Tinshill Church.
13.6.19 – LKS2 Class science competition. Science experiments at the ready! Class winners will represent their class in the Great Science Share!
W.C. 14.6.19 – Drowning Prevention Week begins. This is a really important subject for everyone but especially for the Y4 children following their swimming achievements this year.
