LKS2 – Roman Aqueducts – Forest School

Today in Forest School, pupils in LKS2 continued linking their sessions with the Romans and their great engineering feats. We discussed and discovered more about the many impacts the Roman Empire had on Britain including aqueducts. These structures provided towns and homes with clean, running water. Pupils were then set a series of challenges based on creating their own aqueducts which would enable them to transport the water in the lake in the mountain into the Roman town situated in the valley below. Groups successfully created mini aqueducts to transport water over a short distance and, although no group quite achieved moving water across the field using an aqueduct, there was no lack of teamwork, communication or problem solving on show throughout the day.
