LKS2 – Topic morning

This morning, the children in LKS2 enjoyed a range of activities based around our topic of the Bronze Age. First, we learned about the changes in clothes and jewellery from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age, and the children had a go at making their own jewellery from clay! They used pictures and information about the various types of jewellery to help their designs, then used a range of tools to add detail and decoration. Then we looked at how goods were transported on boats from mainland Europe to Britain. We reminded ourselves of our learning in KS1 about floating and sinking, and applied this to create our own boat with tin foil! We had to think carefully about the design to make sure it didn’t sink! Then we tested out their strength by counting how many coins each one could hold.
