LKS2 Weekly Post

Hello every body!

We hope you have enjoyed your week.

Thank you to everyone who has been sending in their work and pictures of activities this week, we have seen so many Viking challenges and they are all superb! Look at the posts from earlier this week to see some of the work children have sent in.

The LKS2 team have been in school this week and have been very busy…

Miss Boyd has been moulding clay sculptures and then painting them to go in her house. She has also been playing out on the school field and (trying to) work out to Joe Wicks! Her chilli and coriander plants are also starting to grow.

Miss Briscoe has been planting lots of sunflowers and painting some funky art pictures! She has also been making music using instruments found in her mud kitchen.

Miss Evans has been playing Giant UNO and making pancakes in school. She has also been playing out on the field making daisy chains and making the most of her day off by taking a walk around Eccup Reservoir.

Mr Gamble has been exploring outdoors a lot with his family going on new local walks. He has also made his son William an adding machine and he has enjoyed sending his toys down the magical adding tubes whilst learning to count to 10.

Mrs Horsely has been going on her Wii fit, running 5k every day and baking yummy cookies.

A shoutout to Nza for her beautifully written Egyptian story based on our last topic book, There’s a Pharaoh in our Bath. She has even used fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases! Here is a snippet below. Keep it up Nza.

Also, a shoutout to Hugo for his Viking timeline and labelled map. Brilliant work Hugo!

Thank you to Joseph, Alexis, Isobel and Yahya from class 6, Rosie from class 7 and Nza from class 5 for sending in their fabulous rainbow pictures.

Weekly Challenge…

I would like you to see if you can make an animal out household items! You can pick any animal you like but have to use items found in your house or garden to make it… preferably things you will not need to use again! For example, you could use empty toilet rolls, empty plastic bottles and lids, sticks from your garden, left over cardboard/ paper or cotton wool/cotton buds or lots of other items.

Here are a few examples:
