LKS2 Weekly Post!

Hello everyone,

We hope you enjoyed your half term last week and did lots of fun things!

The LKS2 team have been in school this week but have still been getting up to a lot of exciting activities.

Miss Evans has been LOVING the sunshine and going on many walks to soak up the last bit of sun. She has had lots of picnics in the park, and played games like frisbee and tennis. In a couple of parks, she has seen ‘pebble snakes’, where children have painted a pebble and added it to the line! On one of her walks, she also spotted a hedgehog!

Miss Boyd has also been going outside in the sunshine and has revisited her favourite waterfall. She has also finished the puzzle of Santorini in Greece whilst the weather hasn’t been great and has had some movie days watching Disney+. She has also really enjoyed speaking to her family and friends over video call.

Miss Briscoe has been leaf printing, playing chess with help from her cats and setting up a garden shop for her children.

Mr Gamble has been running this week and has managed to beat his time record when running a 5k. How impressive!

We have really loved seeing what you have been getting up to the past 2 weeks.

Riley from Class 7 has been doing some AMAZING geography work last week. He went on a couple of hikes and learnt about the history of the area too. He looked at the various materials the Vikings used and compared it with modern day resources. He also learnt how dams work and about lots of different wildlife that has lived in that area across many years. Well done Riley!

Max H from Class 7 has created a fabulous PowerPoint which celebrates diversity focusing on influential black people from history. He has done some wonderful research and the PowerPoint really shows off his amazing ICT skills!

In Class 5, Jonah has been baking and has made some tasty chocolate cakes! He has also been working on his Viking knowledge by crafting a shield and has drawn a lovely poster. Keep up the good work Jonah!

Also from Class 5, Sam has been learning about iterative design. He has made a boat from household materials and tested it out to see if it floats in water. How creative Sam, keep it up

In Class 6, Lucy has been following the topic of Vikings and has made her own longboat! She has also converted her old swing set in to a den with her brother, Ben, and had a sleepover in it last week. Sounds like lots of fun Lucy!

Yahya in Class 6 has made an amazing lion out of household objects and a few crafts. He has also been practicing his expanded noun phrases and completing his Fluency 15. Well done Yahya, great work!

Keep sending in your work into info@cookridge.leeds.sch.uk, we really enjoy seeing what you have all been doing!

We hope you have a good weekend,

Stay safe, keep smiling,

The LKS2 team.
