LKS2 – Year 3 – English

As we will be describing a forest within our Descriptive Narrative in English, we went outside to use our senses and gather ideas to enhance our description. First we closed our eyes, turned off the lights and listened to the sounds of the forest. Then we looked at pictures of various forests and looked closely at the features of them. We then wore blindfolds and went outside to use smell, touch and taste. We explored the feeling of damp mud, the rough bark and the taste of sweet mist! We collected ideas from these experiences to produce similes, and expanded noun phrases to create clear imagery for our reader.
