Reception – Forest School
Reception enjoyed a lovely morning in our Forest School area with lots of fun activities to explore. Pupils could choose from spending time in our outdoor reading area either reading or listening to stories read by adults, create meals and menus in our mud kitchen and play in the sandpit and explore the different toys and equipment on offer to develop their imaginative play – there was some delicious mint chop chip ice-creams served up for the staff! Children also used loose parts to make items to sell in our Cookridge Market and enjoyed the chance to use our new outside Forest School composting toilet! As well as all this, pupils could also choose to develop their risk management and physical abilities on our ninja slackline or visit the animals to help clean them out, feed them breakfast and collect the chicken eggs. It was a great morning and, despite us not quite making it through without getting soaked by the rain, the children all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done Reception.
