Reception – Pancakes – Forest School
Well it was a very snowy Forest School for Reception today but nevertheless we all had a great time! The main activity today was making pancakes over an outdoor fire. With Pancake Day fast approaching next week, we took the opportunity to celebrate it today with groups making the batter in the poly tunnel with Mrs Arnott. Children had to follow instructions in order, measure, pour and mix three ingredients together – flour, milk and eggs. Once complete, they brought it to the fire pit where Mr Gamble helped pupils cook their delicious snack. To top it off, children had the choice of lemon sauce, chocolate sauce, golden syrup or sugar or they could mix and match toppings – which many children did! There was also the mud kitchen and the slackline available for children to play on and another inside activity with some Forest School mindful colouring in the poly tunnel.
