Reception – Winter Wonderland – Forest School

Reception pupils enjoyed a magical morning in our snow covered grounds in Forest School. Mr Verdi led a Winter walk activity where pupils had to spot signs of Winter and compare and contrast conditions around our grounds to those they discovered in their Autumn walk. Mr Gamble took groups up to our school animals to see how they were coping with the extreme cold. We discussed similarities and differences in how humans and other animals keep themselves warm. We also learnt how to hand feed the goats and collected the chicken eggs. Mrs Andrews and Mrs Colefax led free play activities on the field where children followed their own initiative and used their creativity to play in the snow! There was also a sledge which proved extremely popular amongst the pupils!
