UKS2 – Class 9 – Maths

Today the children in Miss Chambers’ maths class went outside for their learning!

The children were told that Mrs Hunter is considering whether to Astroturf a portion of the playground; and so, wanted them to consider the price. Outside, the children measured the length and width of a portion of the playground, like the football pitch, and worked out the area. Then, once inside the children looked at the prices of different flooring options. Using their long multiplication and column addition skills they worked out which was the best option for Mrs Hunter.
