UKS2 – Newsletter – 03.09.2019

It has been a fantastic first week in UKS2! All pupils have been settling in well to their new classes and are enjoying an exciting start to the academic year. 

To link with our current topic of Ancient Greece, in English we have been researching The Battle of Marathon. A defining conflict between The Athenians and The Persians, we role played the battle on the school field to gain an understanding of the emotions these warriors would have experienced.

We have also been exploring our topic in Art. We used art straws and tissue paper to create a beautiful sunset scene based on the Parthenon in Athens. Pupils brilliantly recreated the striking and infamous architecture of this historical building in front of a colourful and atmospheric background.
