UKS2 – Newsletter – 28.03.25

What a great week in UKS2 it has been!

This week, Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Bradford Science and Media Museum exploring all things, space, light and sound! They investigated these areas in the fantastic ‘Wonderlab’, observed and studied David Hockney before using his style to inspire their own artwork and also watched ‘A Journey into Space’ in the iMax’! 

Year 5 had a fantastic afternoon this week taking part in a workshop with the deputy headteacher from Ralph Thoresby High School.

The children took part in a workshop about one of their core values: resilience. They had fun working in groups to complete different and challenging tasks. For each activity, they had to consider what resilience is and how to support each other as a team to be resilient.

For Year 5 ONLY: thank you to those that have signed up to Camping @ Cookridge. We are looking forward to this new venture for Year 5! The children have received a letter and more details about the residential. Please see below the letter and kit list. Also, don’t forget… it’s so Egg-citing the ‘Egg-ceptional Easter Egg’ competition is back! All you have to do is decorate an egg and bring it into school on Thursday 3rd April.  Any theme you would like the more Egg-stravagent the better! First prize will be given to the overall winners of each key phase (Reception, KS1, LKS2, KS2) with two runner up prizes as well as a prize for the parent and teacher category. So don’t yolk around get designing and making.

Monday (31.03.25) will be PPA day so please ensure children are in appropriate clothing for Forest School. We hope you have a fantastic weekend!
